Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

1 lb ground pork (or substitute with beef or chicken)

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped green onions

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp soy sauce

1 tsp sesame oil

For the Sweet Chili Glaze:

1/2 cup sweet chili sauce

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tbsp honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option)

1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tsp cold water (for thickening)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Sliced green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking.

Prepare the Meatball Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork (or your preferred meat choice), breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped green onions, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, ground ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Use your hands or a spatula to mix the ingredients until just combined—avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender.

Form the Meatballs: With your hands, scoop out portions of the mixture and shape them into meatballs about the size of golf balls (approximately 1-1.5 inches in diameter). Place the formed meatballs onto the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced evenly for proper cooking.

Bake the Meatballs: Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven and bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and fully cooked (the internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).

Make the Sweet Chili Glaze: While the meatballs are baking, prepare the glaze. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey. Stir the ingredients together. Once the mixture begins to simmer, add the cornstarch slurry, stirring continuously until the glaze thickens, which should take about 2-3 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat.

Glaze the Meatballs: After the meatballs are finished baking, transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Pour the warm sweet chili glaze over the meatballs and gently toss to ensure they are evenly coated.

Serve: Arrange the glazed meatballs on a serving platter. For a finishing touch, sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top. Serve them warm as a delectable appetizer or over a bed of rice for a hearty main dish.

                Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 50 minutes | Servings: 4-6

                  Presentation Tips:

For an added touch, serve the meatballs in mini skewers for an easy pick-up option, or create a vibrant platter by adding fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley around the dish.
