Ingredients

2 lbs chicken wings

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup rice vinegar

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust according to spice preference)

1 tablespoon green onions, finely chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken Wings: In a large mixing bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Whisk together until all ingredients are well incorporated. Add the chicken wings to the bowl, ensuring each wing is generously coated with the marinade. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight, to enhance the flavors.

Preheat the Oven: When you’re ready to cook the wings, preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and place a wire rack on top of it. This setup will allow hot air to circulate around the wings, ensuring they cook evenly and achieve a deliciously crispy texture.

Arrange the Wings: Take the marinated chicken wings out of the refrigerator and remove them from the marinade (set aside the marinade for basting later). Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack, making sure there is adequate space between each wing to promote even cooking.

Bake the Chicken Wings: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake the wings for about 25 minutes. After this time, take them out of the oven, baste them with the reserved marinade, and carefully flip them to promote even browning on both sides.

Finish Cooking: Return the wings to the oven and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy to your liking. For an extra crunchy finish, you can broil the wings for the last 2-3 minutes. Keep a close eye on them to prevent any burning.

Garnish and Serve: Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Sprinkle the tops with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for an added touch of flavor and color. Serve alongside your favorite dipping sauce or enjoy them plain for the ultimate sweet and salty experience!
