Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent dough

1 pound breakfast sausage (choose either mild or spicy)

4 large eggs

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup diced green bell pepper

1/4 cup diced onion

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh chives or parsley, for optional garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it's ready for baking.

Cook the Sausage: In a large skillet, crumble and cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat. Stir frequently until the sausage is browned and completely cooked through. Drain off any excess fat and set the sausage aside in a bowl.

Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet (no need to clean it), add the diced green bell pepper and onion. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and fragrant. Season them with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper, stirring well to combine. Remove the skillet from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

Whisk the Eggs: In a medium bowl, crack the eggs and add the milk. Whisk vigorously until fully combined, seasoning with a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour this egg mixture into the skillet with the cooked sausage and sautéed vegetables. Cook over medium heat, stirring gently until the eggs are just set - they will continue to cook while baking. Remove from heat.

Assemble the Crescent Ring: On a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper, carefully unroll the crescent dough. Arrange the dough triangles in a circular pattern, with the wide ends facing outward and overlapping the edges slightly to form a wreath shape.

Add the Filling: Spoon the delicious sausage and egg mixture onto the wide ends of each crescent triangle. Generously sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the filling to add a melty, cheesy delight.

Fold and Seal the Ring: Take the pointed ends of the dough triangles and fold them over the filling, tucking them under the ring to create a sealed shape. Press along the seams to ensure that everything is sealed tightly.

Bake to Perfection: Place the baking sheet in your preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and fully cooked.

Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove the crescent ring from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes. If desired, garnish with freshly chopped chives or parsley for a pop of color. Cut the ring into wedges and serve warm, enjoying this savory breakfast treat!
