Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tbsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp ground nutmeg

1/2 tsp ground ginger

1/2 tsp ground cloves

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced

1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree

1/4 cup milk

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Optional: Sugar for garnishing

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt, whisking until everything is evenly mixed.

Introduce the cold, diced butter to the dry ingredients, then use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to blend until the mixture takes on a crumbly texture.

In another bowl, blend the pumpkin puree, milk, and brown sugar until the mixture is velvety.

Incorporate the pumpkin blend into the flour mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; the dough should remain slightly sticky.

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a rectangle approximately 1 inch thick.

Cut the dough into small pieces, around 2 inches wide, using a biscuit cutter or knife. Arrange them on the prepared baking sheet, allowing some space between them.

For a beautiful golden look, brush the tops of the biscuit bites with the beaten egg. If you like, sprinkle a touch of sugar on top for added sweetness.

Place in the preheated oven and bake for 15-18 minutes or until they turn golden brown.

After baking, take them out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Savor your warm Pumpkin Spice Biscuit Bites with a comforting drink!
