Ingredients

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 cups broccoli florets

3 tablespoons honey

3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

Salt and pepper, to taste

Optional: Sesame seeds for garnish

Optional: Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

Prep the Broccoli: Start by filling a pot with water and bringing it to a rapid boil. Once boiling, add the broccoli florets and blanch them for about 2 minutes until they are bright green and just tender. Quickly drain and transfer the broccoli to a bowl of ice water to halt the cooking process. Drain again and set the broccoli aside for later.

Prepare the Sauce: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and minced ginger until well combined. In a separate small bowl, combine the cornstarch and water to form a smooth slurry. Pour the cornstarch mixture into the honey-soy mixture and stir to combine thoroughly. Set this sauce mixture aside.

Cook the Shrimp: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add both the olive oil and sesame oil. Once the oils are hot and shimmering, carefully add the shrimp in a single, even layer. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque; then flip them over and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fully cooked through.

Incorporate Sauce and Broccoli: After the shrimp is cooked, pour the prepared sauce over the shrimp in the skillet. Stir well to ensure all the shrimp are coated in the sauce. Gently add the blanched broccoli florets and mix everything together. Continue to cook for an extra 2-3 minutes, letting the sauce thicken slightly and cling to the shrimp and broccoli.

Serve: Carefully remove the skillet from the heat. If desired, sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the top for a burst of freshness and crunch. Serve the shrimp and broccoli immediately over a bed of rice or noodles for a satisfying and balanced meal.

            Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 20 minutes | Servings: 4

Presentation Tips: For an elegant touch, serve the shrimp and broccoli arranged neatly on a large platter, garnished with additional sesame seeds and green onions, with a lime wedge on the side for an extra zing.
