Ingredients

1 lb (450g) skinless, boneless chicken tenders

1 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Cooking spray or olive oil for misting

For the Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce:

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

1/4 cup honey

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Pinch of salt and pepper

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Add the chicken tenders into the marinade, ensuring they are completely submerged. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour, or ideally overnight, to enhance the flavor.

Prepare the Coating: In a shallow dish, mix together the all-purpose flour, panko breadcrumbs, dried oregano, and a pinch of additional salt and pepper until thoroughly combined.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for approximately 5 minutes.

Coat the Chicken: Remove the marinated chicken tenders from the buttermilk mixture, allowing any excess marinade to drip off. Dredge each tender in the flour mixture, pressing down gently to ensure an even coating adheres. Place the coated tenders on a plate or baking sheet as you prepare them.

Air Fry the Chicken: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking, then arrange the chicken tenders in a single layer, making sure they do not overlap. Lightly mist the tops of the tenders with olive oil spray to promote crispiness.

Cook: Air fry the chicken tenders at 400°F (200°C) for about 10-12 minutes. Flip the tenders halfway through the cooking time to ensure even crisping. The tenders should be golden brown and crispy when done, with an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

Make the Honey Mustard Sauce: While the chicken is cooking, prepare the dipping sauce by whisking together the Dijon mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a small bowl. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

Serve and Enjoy: Once the chicken tenders are cooked, allow them to rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, alongside the honey mustard dipping sauce for a deliciously satisfying meal.
