Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup canned chili (your choice of beans or no beans)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup diced bell pepper (any color)

1/4 cup diced onion

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Optional: jalapeño slices for added heat

Cooking spray or oil for greasing the baking sheet

Fresh cilantro or chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper or lightly greasing it with cooking spray.

Prepare the Filling: In a medium mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the canned chili, shredded cheddar cheese, diced bell pepper, diced onion, garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Stir until all ingredients are evenly mixed.

Roll Out the Dough: On a clean, flat surface, carefully unroll the crescent roll dough. Separate the dough into triangles, following the perforations indicated on the packaging.

Stuff the Rolls: For each triangle of dough, spoon approximately 2 tablespoons of the chili filling onto the wider end. If you enjoy a bit of spice, feel free to add a few jalapeño slices on top of the filling. Starting from the wide end, roll the dough tightly towards the pointed tip to enclose the filling.

Shape and Place: After rolling, gently shape the edges of each roll by tucking them under or slightly curving them into a crescent shape. Arrange the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring there is enough space in between each roll for them to puff up as they bake.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and puffed up beautifully.

Serve: Once baked, remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes. For an added touch, garnish with freshly chopped cilantro or green onions. Serve the rolls warm with accompaniments like sour cream, salsa, or extra chili for dipping.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 8 rolls

Presentation Tips: Arrange the stuffed rolls on a vibrant platter. For additional color, sprinkle some extra chopped cilantro over the top and serve salsa in a small bowl alongside the rolls for a festive touch!
