Ingredients

1 pound ground chicken

2 cups fresh broccoli florets, finely chopped

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Optional: 1/4 cup breadcrumbs for extra crunch

Instructions

Preheat the Oven:

Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to ensure easy cleanup and prevent sticking.

      Cook the Broccoli:

Bring a small pot of water to a vigorous boil. Add the finely chopped broccoli florets and blanch them for about 2-3 minutes until they turn bright green and slightly tender. Drain the broccoli in a colander and set aside to cool.

          Prepare the Filling:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken with the cooled, blanched broccoli. Add in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese and softened cream cheese. Sprinkle in the garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

              Prepare the Crescent Rolls:

Take the package of refrigerated crescent roll dough and carefully unroll it. Separate the dough into the designated triangles according to the package instructions.

                  Assemble the Bombs:

For each triangle of dough, scoop about 2 tablespoons of the chicken and broccoli filling and place it in the center. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling to create a pocket, making sure to pinch the seams tightly to prevent any filling from escaping during baking.

                      Add Optional Crunch:

If you desire an extra crunchy texture, roll each sealed bomb in breadcrumbs, ensuring they are lightly coated for added crunch.

                          Egg Wash:

Brush the tops of each assembled bomb with the beaten egg. This step will give them a beautiful golden-brown color once baked.

                              Bake:

Arrange the filled pockets neatly on the lined baking sheet. Place them in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.

                                  Serve:

Once baked, remove the Cheesy Broccoli Chicken Bombs from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. Serve them warm, possibly accompanied by a side of ranch dressing or a light dipping sauce for extra flavor.
